I know for us period-people we just looove the idea of syncing up our periods. Syncing our cycle with our friends? Might be a myth but we still love to think it. Planning our work-out sessions with our time of the month? All the rage right now bestie. For my book lovers, lets take syncing a step further and swap cycle syncing for season syncing. I’m gonna to tell you why you just have to start reading seasonally.
Scratches your brain
There’s some magical (and so satisfying) about breezing through a beach read while you’re soaking up the summer sun or curling up with a wintery tale when it’s blowing a gale outside. If you’ve found the perfect playlist to accompany this then it levels up the entire experience.
Instant mood boost
If you’re feeling faily despondent about the weather (I live in the UK after all) a good seasonal book can help embrace the current weather. Or, even better, transport you to a totally different time of you. I guess this reason is almost anti-season-reading. Look out the weather and decide what weather you wish you had, and then choose a book that creates it for you.
Spice up your life*
(*reading routine)
If you’re stuck in a reading rut, switching up your stack with the seasons can give you a fresh perspective. Allow the seasons to take the decision fatigue out of it and choose for you.
Conversation starters
We Brits LUUUURVE to talk about the weather, so use this to your advantage when making book-lover friends! “Oh I loved that book! Totally captured how I feel about crisp autumn days when the leaves have just started to fall!” BOOM. So. Cute. How can you not talk to someone who an relate the most boring topic (the weather) to the most interesting things life has to offer (stories)?
